The history of the school

A little about us...The “Luigi Costanzo” Higher Education Institute was born from the association of four educational institutions historically rooted in the territory. The Scientific High School was founded in 1968 in Decollatura due to a strong concordance of institutional wills (Municipality, Province, Education Authority), first as a detached section of the Fermi Scientific High School of Catanzaro, then autonomous. In 1997, in a context of rationalization of the school network, the Professional Institute for Agriculture and the Environment and the Industrial Technical Institute of Soveria Mannelli were aggregated to the High School, in which respectively the Socio-Health and Computer Science and Telecommunications addresses were activated in 2011-2012, which replaces the Mechanical address. Thus the transformation into a Higher Education Institute took place, to which the Professional Institute for Agriculture of Lamezia Terme was associated in 2012-13 and the subsequent activation of the branches Social-health Services - Auxiliary arts of the health professions, Dental technician and Optician. Seven addresses define one of the most complex Schools in the regional panorama, which has represented a noble chapter in training over the years and today with greater strength also in the productive relaunch of the territory. And if the future is built from the roots, even the dedication, first of the High School and then of the Institute, to Don Luigi Costanzo (Decollatura 1886-1958) is a compass that orients, a notable figure in the ecclesiastical world characterized by a strong apostolic commitment, but also endowed with a refined culture combined with a secular activity always in support of freedom and democracy.
